High Blood Pressure at Applebee's

Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Blood Pressure

Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. Skip all the chicken dishes and seafood at Applebee's except Grilled Chicken Breast and Baked Haddock without sides respectively. You must also skip Brunch Burger, Quesadilla Burger, Triple Bacon Burger, and Whiskey Bacon Burger at Applebee's. High sodium intake can be lethal for a high blood pressure candidate. Avoid ordering foods that contain over 1000mg sodium at Applebee's, especially if you're dining alone.

High Cholesterol at Applebee's

Well, steaks and ribs go hand in hand with cholesterol. Being their signature dish, it will be a challenge to find low-calorie, healthy food for those concerned with their cholesterol levels. However, you can always opt for their salads and other light foods to keep the cholesterol in check.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Cholesterol

If you have high cholesterol, then you must avoid eating sandwiches, wraps, and tacos at Applebee's. While the salads and soups sound healthy, you must skip the Fiesta Chopped Salad and Loaded Potato Soup at Applebee's. It is also advised to dodge the Three Cheese Chicken Penne and Chicken Fajita Rollup. Any main meal with over 100mg cholesterol is not idle for someone with high cholesterol. So, skip those items at Applebee's.

I am a regular here and I love it here. Wait staff always friendly and prompt, music at a good level, bar isn't loud and annyoing, food is usually great tasting. Love their french onion, cheeseburgers and fries!

I had lunch here today with a friend. As is typical for Applebee's the food was nothing special. We ordered a salad and a cheeseburger, a water and a club soda. Where my shock comes in is with the bill comes a charge for a soft drink at a whopping $2.69 and below the charge listed for the club soda, $0.00. Since no one ordered a soda I asked our waiter to look into the charge. He returned with his manager who stood behind me, did not introduce himself and while walking up to the table saying "yeah, we charge for club soda." I had to turn to address to him that I was merely asking for clarification. While the waiter was polite, the manager was anything but and because of him and his poor customer service I will not be returning. I have not witnessed such poor people skills from a manager ever before not to mention almost $3 for seltzer water.

Our family LOVES Applebee's on Dekalb/Norristown area. Frequent customer since 2007. I can honestly say that every server we've had has offered above average service to us, they've been prompt and curtious in every way. The food we have ordered has always been served in a reasonable time, sometimes faster than expected and still outstanding! Their food such as, salads and meat are fresh, especially their hot wings, which we are BIG fans of! My fav side dish is their infamous red skinned mashed potatoes w/sour cream. I would highly recommend this Applebee's for a family night out. Very pleased customer. Enjoy!

We like it here. Whether it be the Drinks, or "What's open after 10pm?"... Applebee's hits the spot when it comes to late night dining in E.Norriton. We've sampled several dishes and appetizers. No need to list'em, just take my word for it. The service is good, there are always a plentiful amount of people at this location. The food is hot, spicy [made to order] and good. It' isn't the best, no, not by a long shot. It is good though and I simply enjoy the area.

I know i know better & even though i know i still went in. Wtf is my problem? Either way after the fact i must say that The service was excellent. Our server was on point the entire time however, as expected the food was "crap" & way over priced for what it was. Peppercorn sirloin was a pile of too much peppercorn topping a tiny pile of grisle. The jalopeno veggie burger I had a skimpy amout of cut Jalopenos on a tasty veggie burger that was barely between the buns. It was just slopped together. We Weren't expecting manna from heaven & we got nothing shy of low grade prison food.

Been here a few times now. Pretty varied menu. All consistent franchise food. Not bad, kinda pricey but all in all a good time. Things to look for: Drink specials- certain nights drinks are $4 like their Long Island which kicks ass or their gigantic sangria which is a great value because it does the trick. They don't skimp on the booze. Quesadilla burger is def best item on the menu. And the boneless chicken wings are very good for a starter I'd pick this place over the competition anytime

Tried their ToGo system for the first time last week. I had a rather difficult order but the young lady was very pleasant, and accomadated all of my requests to perfection. She was very prompt, and polite, and although I never tipped for takeout, I left her a tip considering, she had to come out to my car with my order, go back inside to do my credit card transaction and come out again. Surprisingly, she had a baby bump, and I felt bad about having her go back and forth, but like I said, she was a delight the entire time. It was actually quite convenient, and a delightful experience. Will do again in the near future.

On a road trip passing through an unfamiliar town, my traveling companion saw an Applebee's and wanted to eat there. A vegan can starve in an Applebee's but it's not my last meal so I agreed to go. Our waitress was extremely sweet and helpful. She showed me the binder of Applebee's Allergen Information (available online: applebees.com/~/media/do… ). Meatless items in common between the nondairy and egg-free pages: guacamole, chips & salsa, salad with thousand island or oil & vinegar, steamed broccoli, French fries, crispy red potatoes. Okay, I could make a meal out of that. Oops, they no longer carry guacamole but I really did enjoy my double order of crispy red potatoes. It showed up on my bill as "2 side country pots $4.98"--what a great price! And I feel good that I made my friend happy.

I work at a restuarant on the weekend so when I'm done I like to go somewhere for a beer and a quick bite. So applebee's is right down the street. For the last few time we were lucky enough to have Aaron as r sever I feel bad because we don't get there til 11 and they close at 12 so we make it fast that's y Aaron is the best he actually remembered us and that I love sour cream with my boneless wing and chicken quesadilla he is quick kind and very accommodating I kno from being a server myself it's easy to get a little annoyed when u r supposed to b cut but because of some circumstances u have to stay and Aaron alway pleasant. Thanks for the great service

We stopped in to grab lunch today because we were in a hurry and it wasn't too busy here. Our server, Kyle, was very sweet and checked in on us every 5 minutes. I had the endless soup and signature salad, which was a nice option since I was hungry and like to try a variety of items. The smaller half portions were the perfect size too. The french onion soup was decent but quite cheesy and they did run out of the chicken tortilla, which was disappointing. The chicken caesar and shrimp and spinach salads were pretty good, though, and I liked the addition of sliced almonds to the shrimp salad, although the bacon was barely discernible. The blackened shrimp was slightly greasy but pretty juicy and decent enough. The black and blue burger was okay, with thick sliced of crispy bacon, blue cheese, and onions, although the fries needed some seasoning. Our drinks were refilled consistently, which was a nice touch. Overall, a solid lunch option. It's a national semi-fast food chain so if you come with that expectation, it'll be a decent experience. 2 stars for the food and an additional for the service.

Before the days of bars, pubs and breweries, there was Applebees. My friends and I used to come here a lot when we were in high school and I'm just gonna blame it on the fact that we didn't know any better. But I won't lie, I did thoroughly enjoy their after 9PM half-priced appetizers and still do...occasionally. In any case, this Applebee's is pretty much like any other Applebees with food and drink and perhaps even service which can either be hit or miss. For entrees, I'd stay away from the southwest jalapeno burger unless you enjoy eating jalapenos soaked in oil and or drinking a cup of grease with your burger. I mean, I've had plenty of burgers here before but this southwest jalapeno just didn't make the cut. I'm not too thrilled about the steak either as it can be tough and chewy and of course nothing ever comes out looking as it's portrayed in the menus. What I do enjoy is their late night beer specials which is relatively nice on the wallet. I'm also down with the town-based decor as it gives off a homey kind of feel or maybe it's because I always run into people from high school when I come through. Either way, it is what it is.

About Applebee's

Applebee is an American full-service restaurant brand popularly known for its signature Riblets. Applebee was conceptualized in 1980 by Bill and TJ Palmer in Atlanta, Georgia. At first, the restaurant was named T.J. Applebee's RX for Edibles and Elixirs. After the concept was acquired by W.R. Grace and Company, the restaurant was renamed as Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.

Later in 2007, IHOP Corp. now known as DineEquity, Inc. acquired Applebee's and began their journey together to make Applebee's the world's largest full-service restaurant chain. Today, Applebee's serves at more than 1,830 locations worldwide. The Applebee's menu ranges from Appetizers and Salads to heavy meals consisting of ribs and steak.
